The July 2025 SQE 1 exam is just around the corner with the first part, FLK1, expected to run from July 14th to 18th, and FLK2 from July 21st to 25th. NB: The dates are not certified and it's prudent to inquire from the SRA website

If you're feeling a mix of excitement and anxiety, you're not alone.
This is the final stretch, the critical period where your hard work pays off.
The goal now is not just to study, but to study smart, manage your mindset, and walk into that exam room with confidence.
Here’s your game plan for acing the July SQE 1.
Week-by-Week Action Plan
The Final Review (Now until July 7th)
At this stage, cramming new material is a risky move. Instead, focus on consolidation and high-yield topics.
Go back to your notes and flashcards, not your textbooks. Identify your weak spots—the areas that still make you hesitate.
At this point in your preparation, MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) and practice questions are your most viable mode of preparation.
They force you to apply your knowledge under exam-like conditions and are the most efficient way to identify knowledge gaps.
Spend dedicated time working through practice questions for each module, and don't just focus on the right answer.
Analyze why the incorrect options are wrong.

Mock Exam Marathon (July 7th - July 13th)
This is where you build endurance and refine your exam technique.
Sit through at least one full mock exam for both FLK1 and FLK2 under timed conditions.
This is non-negotiable.
It helps you get used to the pace, understand time management, and identify patterns in the questions.
After each mock, do a thorough review of your answers, paying close attention to why you got a question wrong. Was it a knowledge gap, a misread, or a simple error? This is your last chance to iron out the kinks.

The Calm Before the Storm (The week of your exam):
In the days leading up to your exam, switch gears.
Taper down your study hours significantly.

This is not the time for intense study sessions. Instead, do light reviews of key concepts and summaries.
The goal is to keep the information fresh without burning out. Prioritize rest, nutrition, and light exercise.
You need a clear mind and a well-rested body. A brain that's exhausted can't perform at its peak.
Master Your Mindset
Your mindset is just as important as your knowledge base. It's easy to get caught up in self-doubt, but remember this: you have put in the hours.
- Trust the process: You’ve done the work. Now you need to trust that the knowledge is there. Avoid comparing yourself to others. Your journey is your own.
- Visualize success: Spend a few minutes each day visualizing yourself answering questions confidently and leaving the exam room with a sense of accomplishment. This simple technique can reduce anxiety and build confidence.
- Stay positive: If a question seems impossible during the exam, don't panic. Move on and come back to it later. A negative mindset can spiral and affect your performance on subsequent questions.
Exam Day Essentials
- Get organized: The night before, pack your essentials: a government-issued ID, your admission ticket, and any approved personal items. Know your route to the test center and aim to arrive with plenty of time to spare.
- Fuel your brain: Have a good, balanced meal before the exam. Avoid heavy foods that can make you sluggish or sugary drinks that will lead to a crash.
- Read carefully: This is a simple but crucial tip. Read every question and every answer option meticulously. The SQE 1 is known for its subtle wording. Don’t rush.
